SplitWisp Inc. ("SplitWisp", "we", "our", or "us") operates the website at splitwisp.com, the SplitWisp dashboard at app.splitwisp.com, the SplitWisp tracking SDK, and the SplitWisp Visual Editor Chrome extension (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2a. Information you provide
When you create an account or contact us, we collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide (e.g., company name, billing details processed via Stripe).
2b. Automatically collected information
When you use our Services we may collect log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps), usage metrics, and cookies or similar identifiers required to operate the Services.
2c. Data collected via the tracking SDK
When you install the SplitWisp SDK on your website, the SDK records anonymous experiment assignment events (variant name, experiment ID, URL, timestamp) and transmits them to our API. The SDK does not collect personally identifiable information about your website's visitors. Data is stored in association with your SplitWisp project, not with individual end-user identities.
2d. Data collected via the Chrome extension
The SplitWisp Visual Editor Chrome extension ("Extension") requires the following browser permissions to function:
• activeTab — to read and visually modify the currently active tab so you can create experiment variations without writing code.
• cookies — to read session cookies on the active tab solely to maintain your authenticated SplitWisp session within the extension side panel.
• storage — to persist your editor preferences and in-progress draft variations locally on your device.
• tabs — to detect when you navigate to a new page so the editor can apply the correct experiment variations for that URL.
• sidePanel — to display the Visual Editor interface in the Chrome side panel.
The Extension does not collect your browsing history, transmit cookie values to our servers, or read content from pages other than the one you are actively editing. All data accessed through these permissions is used solely to provide the visual editing experience.
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
• Process transactions and send related communications (receipts, renewal notices).
• Send product updates and marketing emails — you may opt out at any time.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
• Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., Stripe for payments, cloud infrastructure providers).
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by law.
• A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Any third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
We use strictly necessary cookies to authenticate users and maintain sessions. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using authenticated features.
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Experiment event data is retained for up to 24 months from collection and then aggregated or deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us immediately at security@splitwisp.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@splitwisp.com. We will respond within 30 days.
The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@splitwisp.com and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
